2 2 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core Background If you haven’t used MEGS-Plus, it is recommended to review Agency Training (a broad overview of MEGS-Plus) before this presentation This session focuses on:  Initiate the application  Complete and submit the application

3 3 MEGS-Plus Training for Application WIA Core 2012 Part 1: Initiate the Application

4 4 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Getting There After login, this is your Home Page. If you have applications to initiate, click on View Available Applications/Tasks. If you don’t this section doesn’t even show.

5 5 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Available Applications/Tasks This shows all available to initiate applications. Click on the Initiate button to start the process.

6 6 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Agreement To initiate you need to click on “I Agree”

7 7 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Application Menu The Detail link is clicked to see more about the application’s  Agency  Status To enter the application to create/edit, select “View Edit”

8 8 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Application Menu The View/Edit page for initiation requires you to click on “Review Grant Selections”

9 9 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Review Grant Selections Click on “Apply Now” for each applicable Funding Source Click on “Save” and receive the message “the information has been saved”

11 11 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Getting There After login, this is your Home Page. Within My Application/Tasks, click on “open Application/Tasks” And you see the applications available to work on (as shown)  Notice the scroll bar (far right) Click on the “identifier” of the specific application desired

12 12 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Getting There The Detail link is clicked (as shown) to see more about the application  Agency  Status To enter the application to create/edit, select “View Edit” Also notice “Change Status”  You select this when ready to submit (more later)

13 13 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – View/Edit Page This page lists the forms that comprise the application  Also shows who created and when last updated Click on the link to access the page for creation/edit of info

14 14 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – View/Edit Page By the way, the pages/forms for WIA Core include:  Other Cover Page, Assurance and Certifications, Important Information  Management Activities Fiscal Agent Info, Grant Selections, Regional Provider Info, Regional Partnerships, Adult Ed Program Offerings  Budget Federal General Instructions, Federal Institutional, Anticipation Tuition/Fees, Anticipated Local Other  Program Info Regional Project Narrative

15 15 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Management Activity: Info Pages For both the Additional Fiscal Agent Info and Regional Provider Info pages…  Select from the dropdown the Agency Type  Complete all “*” fields Name, Address, Phone, Email, etc.  Select “save” (not shown)

16 16 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Management Activity: Regional Partnership Select from dropdown the Region Number And enter in the table at least 1 Agency Name and Roles or Services Select “save”

17 17 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Management Activity: Adult Ed Program Offerings Enter information including all required “*” fields For the program,  Click on the box for the intended program(s). At least 1 must be selected  and then enter both tuition/fees and hours  Click Save (not shown).

18 18 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Budget: Summary The top box shows funding source, grant, agency The middle box shows the Budget Summary by function codes (along the left) and object codes (along the top) Enter the required “*” contact information (at the very bottom) Then select Budget Detail

19 19 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Budget: Detail This page shows the Budget Detail  Select add or edit a budget item Also notice “Global Errors” button (more later)

20 20 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Budget: Item On the bottom half of the page, select the function code (from the dropdown) Enter description And enter budget  If enter salary also need benefits  If entered Salary/Benefits then must have FTE/hours Click on Save Budget Item (top of page).

21 21 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Project Narrative Complete all required “*” fields The Regional Project Narrative must provide detailed information for ALL programs and ALL funding sources. Please notice beneath each entry box in the character length limitation

22 22 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Global Errors On many pages, there is a Global Error button. Select at any time. When you select, the result tells you what is not yet right/complete  It also notes things which are completed and correct For errors, click on the link and it takes you to the page with an error All errors must be corrected before submission.

23 23 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Submission: Change Status When you think you are done and want to submit  You can get to this Application Menu page (from many pages) by clicking on the Identifier  Select “View Status Options” within the Change Status section

24 24 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Submission: Change Status The Change Status page shows available options including ability to submit to MDE for review If unsure, simply back out. Choose neither option. A reminder…click on the Detail link to see more about the application

25 25 MEGS-Plus: WIA Core – Submission: Change Status If you submit the application and no global errors, you receive this page If you click “I Agree” then this “commits” the Agency will meet “assurances and certifications” If you click “I do not agree” you are taken to the Application Menu
