4 Regions A region is areas which share common features; like religion, language, geography and history. GA is part of four cultural regions, the South, the Deep South, the Southeast and the Sun Belt.

5 The South ► All states south of the Mason Dixon Line ► States that allowed slavery until the Civil War ► These states broke away and were their own country for 5 years during the Civil War. The Confederate States of America. ► Includes VA, KY, TN, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, MO, TX, OK Historical Connections
