Write all the letters learned on this paper (m, a, t, d, o, c, g, i, n, h, s, f, v, z, p, b, e). Time your child saying their sounds. Record time. Repeat 3 times trying to beat your time! Name: _____________________ Math Make 10 with two different things in your home. Glue in journal (Ex. 7 macaroni noodles, 3 beans). Count as high as you can by 1’s. Count 3 times and try to count higher each time. Record how high your child counted without skipping numbers. Count to 100 by tens. Then write these numbers on this paper (10, 20, 30 40…)

Use as flashcards. Have your child write any words he/she had trouble with 3 times on this page. Play tic-tac-toe with two of the high frequency words of the week. Player 1 writes one word and Play 2 writes the other words. Just like X’s and O’s. Play on the paper. Write 3 sentences with sight words. Make sure every sentence has at least one sight word in it. Underline or highlight the sight word.

Family Tradition Homework for Fall Break Family Recipe Project After Fall Break, we will launch into our second unit of study. We will be learning about the farm, and we will talk about where our food comes from. We want to weave in our students’ personal experience by having them prepare a family recipe and share their stories of making it. Please choose a recipe that is special in your family.. Your child should… shop for the ingredients with you follow the directions with you be hands on in the making process eat it! Please EMAIL your teacher by Tuesday October 6 th One vertical picture of your child in the middle of the cooking process (ex. mixing, following a recipe, putting something in the oven, licking the beaters, eating it) Typed copy of recipe (ingredients and directions). Your recipe can be typed in either Spanish or English, whatever language it is originally written in! A sentence or explanation of why this recipe is special to your child/family. We will be making a class cookbook. Your teacher will put the picture and the recipe instructions on your child’s page. Attached is a sample of what we need from you in an email. Happy cooking!
