EGN1935: ECE Adventures Team: TnJ Robot: Jerry Fall 2014 Team Members: Natalie Ochoa-Odon Andres Garanton Josh D’Urso

Year: Freshman Major: Electrical Engineering This course gave me my first opportunity to have hands on experience with robots. I plan to work in the robotics industry in the future, so it was very interesting to get a basic understanding of how we are able to communicate with machines.

Josh D’Urso I would like to become more involved in some robotics clubs here at UF once I gain a bit more experience. Eventually, I want to have a job in which I am part of a team that develops state of the art technology. Advice: Take a class like ECE Adventures, where you can get hands on experience in whatever interests you.

Andres Garanton Year: Freshman Major: Mechanical Engineering In this class, I have learned the basics of how to program and now have a better understanding of what engineering is. I want to get the most out of the classes that UF has to offer that will benefit me as an engineer.

Andres Garanton I plan to work for a company where I will develop my skills as an engineer. There, I will either rank up in the company or start my own. Advice: Take this class seriously and go to every lecture and lab. You will be surprised how much you learn in the little amount of time in class.

Natalie Ochoa-Odon Year: Freshman Major: Mechanical Engineering I have learned how to build a circuit board and about all of the components of one. Also, I learned how to program a robot so that it can use its sensors to work its way through a maze. This experience will make the transition to programming classes much easier.

Natalie Ochoa-Odon I plan to keep growing as an engineer and use the knowledge given to me to create something new. I want to keep up with innovations in technology and one day make a difference with an invention of my own. Advice: Get involved in clubs and sports. Also, take classes that interest you and are relevant towards your major, just like this one.

A word from Team TnJ Make sure to appreciate the hands on experience that you are provided with in ECE Adventures and continue to find other opportunities to learn without a book.
