7.  Mali had a government like Ghana’s, but royal officials had more responsibilities because Mali had more territory, more people, and more trade.  Kings controlled a strong central government.  Generals controlled the provinces and protected Mali from invaders.  Mansa Musa was Mali’s most powerful king.
