5 GCSEs and Beyond entry requirements Level 3 General/Applied Courses Vocational (Practical) Courses You need a range of Level 2 qualifications. Most courses require a C or above in Maths and/or English Some subjects/courses require specific subjects to have been studied. A Level courses in Cambridge now require 7 A*-C. Most courses start at Level 1, progressing to Level 2 and Level 3 as skills develop Most courses require 3 GCSEs at D or above, sometimes with Maths and/or English Some courses need specific subjects To confirm entry requirements and specific subject requirements please contact post 16 centres you are considering.

7 A completed application form A personal statement form A copy of the summative statement/school report (includes subject reports, GCSE predicted grades, attendance and behaviour records) GCSEs and Beyond completing the application The CAP application consists of:

8 Personal statements completed by 4 th November. Draft application form written and returned to Mrs Dickinson on 9 th January. Drafts checked and returned to students by 13 th January. Neat version of application form completed and returned to Mrs Dickinson by 15 th January. GCSEs and Beyond completing the application

9 School adds predicted grades and subject reports Final version of application form returned to students for checking and for signature by parent/carer by 24 th January. Students MUST return signed application form to school by 27 th January GCSEs and Beyond completing the application

10 SEPT/OCT Review of options assembly Continue research Guidance interviews Parents’ Evening (subject consultation -3 rd Oct) Parents’ Evening (Guidance and Information – 24 th Oct) GCSEs and Beyond dates

11 NOV Finalise and submit Personal Statement to Mrs Dickinson Open Evenings Guidance interviews DEC Mock exams (start 2 nd Dec) Mock results day (20 th Dec) GCSEs and Beyond dates

12 JAN CAP applications Apprenticeship workshops FEB/MAR/APR College interviews Provisional offer of college places received GCSEs and Beyond dates

13 MAY GCSE exams start (12 th May) JUNE Exams finish (27 th June) AUG Exam results (21 st Aug) contact FE centre to confirm acceptance of offer GCSEs and Beyond dates
