They will also be collecting old cell phones to raise money for homeless youth in Jacksonville. Additional information is at www.standupforkids.org/local/Florida/Jacksonville www.standupforkids.org/local/Florida/Jacksonville On Monday and Wednesday, Oct. 22 & 24, we delivered 430 dictionaries to third graders at San Pablo Elem., Neptune Beach Elem, Atlantic Beach Elem. and Mayport Elem. We actually went to the class rooms and handed out the books. The kids were so appreciative they clapped, sang, and had made posters for us. We had fun talking to the kids and having them look up words like Jaguars. Helping give out the books were: Hugh Patterson, Jim Lee ( Jim was at San Pablo, and that was where he went to elem. school), Erica Godamunne, Bill Montgomery, Jay Ambler, and our new member, Gabriella, and myself. Corky Borders We officially kicked off our new Circle K Club on Tuesday, November 6 th, 2007. Butch Shadwell, chair of Youth Services, presided at their Charter Ceremony. Kiwanians Bill Montgomery, Ed Robinson, Jay Ambler and John Bates also attended. Col. Charles R. Baker Beryl Dryden introduced our speaker.
