6 One of the purposes of the Freshman Seminar program is character education with the intent to create a smooth transition from early adolescence to adulthood as a student at Wayne Valley High School. Students discuss strategies for character development including the following character traits: kindness, integrity, citizenship, determination, responsibility, respect, empathy, justice, leadership, independence, self-worth, curiosity, hard work, courtesy, courage and athleticism.
