2 Monday August 17 th Directions: Decide if each statement is true. If not, correct it. EX: I have six toes. (This statement is not true so we write a sentence to correct it.) Answer: I have 10 toes. 1. There are 11 planets in our solar system. 2. The stars in the sky are the same distance from earth. 3. It takes Earth one year to orbit the sun.

3 Tuesday August 18 th 1. Take your piece of paper, put your name and date on it and the number on your desk. 2. Turn to p.655 in your textbook or 713 on the Ipad. 3. Define the following terms: - electromagnetic radiation - spectrum - wavelength -telescope 4. Turn it into the proper tray.

4 Wednesday August 19 th Turn in extra credit to the tray? Turn in any homework or missing work from previous days. Morning work: worksheet on the desk. Look above my bulletin board for a great hint! Turn into the tray after it is done. Then study for your quiz. Make sure you take a look back at your notes!

5 Thursday August 20 th Morning work: “Why might most space missions be done in spacecrafts that do not have astronauts on board?” Answer in no less than 5 sentences. Must give at least 3 reasons. Must be in pencil. Turn into the tray when done.

What are the three main stages in exploring a planet? 4. What kinds of things do engineers have to think about before launching a rocket? - Done in pencil and turned into the correct tray.

7 Monday August 24 th -On a piece of paper 19.4 Vocabulary term: Impact Crater -On same piece of paper, answer questions 1-5 on p. 674 in textbook. P.732 on IPAD -Make sure you have finished satellite activity from Friday.

8 Tuesday August 25 th Write a journal entry on if you were an astronaut about to blast off into space: EXAMPLE: “It’s the night before my big mission to Mars…..” Study for quiz.

9 Wednesday August 26 th Morning work: Quietly work on study guide until you are called for small group. If you are unsure of a question, skip it and we will discuss it later. If you finish the study guide and are confident about all of the answers, turn it in and work on p. 677 #’s 1-21 on paper. If you need paper, remember there is always some in the top tray.
