(c) International Road Transport Union (IRU) 2012 1 st IRU-LAS-AULT Seminar on International Transport Agreements The IRU and the AULT organised together with the LAS the first joint seminar on international road transport agreements in Cairo on 25- 26 October 2009. On 28 October 2009, the LAS Council of Arab Ministers of Transport called upon 22 Arab States to join and implement the UN Conventions, notably TIR, and to continue cooperation with the IRU. Recommendations to the LAS Council for 2012 Invite Member States to implement past recommendations, Urge Member States to join the CMR Agreement, Recommend Member States to introduce compulsory professional training of road transport managers and drivers at the IRU Academy international standards, Support the AULT to organise in close cooperation with National Competent Authorities a transparent, reliable affordable and objective testing of IRU Academy students.
