21 21 UNAIDS/S.NOORANI Low prevalence = Don’t accept as priority because of low number of cases Misunderstanding “This will not happen to me ” Do not prioritize the tasks

22 22 Lesson Constant changes in structure of National Committee responsible for united actions against HIV/AIDS lead to negative outcome by fragmenting the actions Absence of integrated work-plan Lack of government resource for financing

23 23 Lessons learnt (2) Lack of awareness among Governors and Head of Departments at aimag and city level Poor participation of Health sector Poor linkage of Government and NGO led activities

24 24 Further steps To stabilize activity of National Committee To approve costed national strategy on prevention of HIV/AIDS/STI Approved policy and operational plan To implement approved policy and operational plan in an effective, strategic, participatory approach Effective adoption of the results of research works and reports in practice
