2. The literacy rate in Colombia is around 90%. In terms of how far students go in school, it’s similar to America. Some people quit school early, but most go all the way to college. Primary school, which is 1 st grade through 5 th grade is free. Secondary school, 6 th through 12 th grade, is also free. Once you reach college you have to pay.

3. All students of all ages are required to wear school uniforms every day. Only 10% of children do not attend school, typically because they are needed at home. Anglo Colombian School, or Colegio Anglo-Colombiano in Spanish, is an elite private school located in Bogota. Enrollment is 1820 pesos (less than a dollar).

4. Two major universities in Colombia include Universidad de Nariño, which is locate in Pasto, Colombia, and Universidad Santiago de Cali, which is located in Valle del Cauca, Colombia. It was hard to find information on tuition, but we found that tuition can range from 2 million to 11 million Colombian pesos, or 600 to 3300 U.S. dollars.
