Shopping is part of our every day lives. Some people enjoy it, and will wander aroung shops only to have a look (jen se podívat), with no particualy goal (cíl). On the other hand a lot of people hate it, because it coul d by very stressful, for instance during summer or winter sales (slevy). Special offers results in stressful behaviour and overcrowded shops. The happens at holidays ( at Christmas, Easter)

In the past, most shops were small specialised stores only. They were called corner shops (ochod na rohu). The proprietor would stand behind the counter (kasa), serve the customers and provide them with latest new. Some people still like this type of shops as they feel comfortable doing their shopping there.

Most people, however, shop in huge supermarkets or in shopping centres because there is everything under the roof – stores, cafés, restaurants, sometimes even cinema. * As time went by, shops started specializing, and you can also get valuable advice about the products for example: book in bookshop, clothes in clothes shop, shoe in shoes shop and so on.

The advertising, in my opinion, influences everybody. This is the aim of advertisements to influence a person without noticing it. It´s logical because if you have to choose between two products, which have the same price, you pick up the product which is more familiar for you.

Shops used to close at six p. m. but nowdays there are more and more shops, which realize that many people have to do their shopping other work, so big supermarkets don´t close until 9 or 10 p. m. Or a lot of supermarkets are open nonstop every day. Most of them are open on Sundays and on holidays as well.
