2 BACKGROUND Graduated from United Local High School in 1997 Graduated with honors from Youngstown State University in 2004 Currently attending the University of Akron Started Substitute teaching in September 2005 Started working at Hope Academy Canton in 2008 in the Educational Technology Position. Testing/Data Coordinator in 2009-2010 School year

3 TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCES Taught Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint to students 2 nd -8 th grade. Learned how to use Excel in current position. 4 PLANNING AND FACILITATING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Conducted monthly test taking strategies to staff of 35 teachers Prepared a presentation for colleagues on OAA Test Security Helped design and present data binders for every class.

5 USING TECHNOLOGY TO DIFFERENTIATE INSTRUCTION Integrating technology into the classroom is important for today’s digital learners. However, technology is not just using the computer to type an essay, it’s using a camera or making a video to demonstrate what has been learned, it’s creating a comic to show the life cycle of a frog, it’s using a cell phone or Ipod to answer classroom polls, it’s giving the student a way to express what they have learned in a manner that lets them be creative and really show what they know. It motivates and engages the students in learning.

6 USING TECHNOLOGY TO DIFFERENTIATE INSTRUCTION Excellent example - Forest Lake Elementary in Columbia, South CarolinaForest Lake Elementary – In a typical class, students are, “reading books, practicing math skills on a computer, creating videos with a Flip cam, contributing to the class blog, producing PowerPoint slide shows, or reviewing suffixes and prefixes on an interactive whiteboard…”

9 PLANNING, ORGANIZING AND TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS Over the past few years I have helped plan and organize activities such as: Monthly Student of the Month Luncheons, Pep Rallies, Award Ceremonies, OAA Carnival, and Field Day Activities. Organized and implemented small group instruction for OAA prep.

10 LEADERSHIP POSITIONS Lead the effort to start data binders to increase the chances of passing the OAA. Lead Student of the Month activities to recognize outstanding students. Lead successful canned food drive in 2008 raising almost 2500 cans in one week.
