2. How to Get to NoodleTools: 1.Go to the CASHS Library Web site at www.chambersburg.k12.pa.us/cashslibrary www.chambersburg.k12.pa.us/cashslibrary 2.From the CASHS Library Homepage, double click on Subscription Databases. 3.From the Subscription Databases page, choose NoodleTools.

3. Getting Into NoodleTools: The first time that you use NoodleTools, you will create a Personal ID. So click on “Create a Personal ID.”

4. Log into NoodleTools: Because the library pays to subscribe to NoodleTools, you need to type in the Username and Password. The Username is cashsl and the password is library1. Then click on “Sign In.”

5. Step Five: Create your Account After logging in, you need to create your own account. You might consider your school login and password to keep things simple. Follow the directions as seen to the right and then click on “Register.”

6. Getting Started Once you have created your account, you need to create a “List” (think of it as a folder) that will hold your information for a particular assignment.

7. Create a New List  Choose MLA Advanced.  Where it says “description,” add a description of your topic/assignment.  Click on “Create List”

8. Select a Citation Type  From the drop down menu, choose the citation type that best matches your resource.  Click on “Create Citation.”

9. Choose the Best Option Choose the option that best matches the resource. Click NEXT. Continue refining the specifics about the type of resource you are using. NoodleTools will continue asking you questions to further refine the type of resource you are using.

10. Fill in Basic Information  Just like when you are ordering something online, go through each field and fill in the information asked for if it applies to your resource.

11. You Gotta Think, Think! Take your time as you work your way through each field. Look at your resource to figure out what information you have to enter into NoodleTools. You do NOT have to fill in each field…just those that pertain to the resource for which you are building your citation. Read the explanations accompanying each field and use the built-in help features to determine how to best build your citation.

12. Generate Citation  When you are done entering all of the necessary information into each field, select “Generate Citation” so that NoodleTools creates the “bib card” for you and displays it in your list.

13. And so on, and so on, and so on…  If you would like to create another citation (“bib. card”), select the drop down menu next to “Cite a” and begin the process all over again.  As you continue to build more citations (“bib. cards”), NoodleTools will add them to your list.
