3 Also: Satire  Satire humor or ridicule intended to expose the truth  Irony- difference between how things are and how they should be or are expected to be  Exaggeration- overdoing physical characteristics to make a point

4 Symbols elephant = Republican Party donkey = Democrat Party serpents, crocodiles, vultures, wolves, tigers, barbarians, dogs of war = aggression, warlike nations, war eagle, Uncle Sam, Columbia = the U.S. doves, olives = peace bulldog, John Bull, Lion, Britannia = Great Britain or England lambs, bunnies, little children, canaries = peaceful nations or weak nations bear, bearded Bolshevik = Russia sombrero = Mexico or Latin America dragon or helpless giant = China Samurai, snakes, bat, fiends, foxes = Japan
