3 Germany’s Location Germany is located in Northeastern Europe, next to the Netherlands, Poland and Northeast of France.

4 Some background info… Germany was established as a country in 1871 Back in the Roman era it was known as Germania

5 How big is Germany? 357,021 sq km (137,847 sq. miles) which is slightly smaller than Montana Land Area: 349,223 sq km Water Area: 7,798 sq km

6 What is their climate like there? Average High: 55ºF Average Low: 39ºF Median Temperature: 47ºF Average Precipitation: 1.7in per/month Germany seems like a cold place to live in.

7 What is the terrain like? The country of Germany's terrain has lowlands in north, Uplands in center The Bavarian Alps in south

8 Elevation extremes! Zugspitze is the highest peek in Germany It towers up to 3,000 meters (10,000 feet)!

9 Natural Resources Some natural resources for Germany are coal, natural gas, potash, iron ore, copper, nickel, uranium, timber and salt. Also rivers such as the Rhine River flow through Germany
