Left to England, Florida, and the frontier past Appalachian Mountains and Canada. 3. Shunned and mocked by Patriots. Became victims to mob violence. Some were arrested for helping Britain. In rare occasions few Loyalists were executed for their crimes.

10. LIFE AT THE HOME FRONT Hopes for Equality 1.Christian and other groups condemned slavery -New Jersey Governor William Livingston asked legislature to end slavery in New Jersey. Livingston said “Slavery is utterly inconsistent with principles of Christianity and humanity.” 2. Many fought for the American cause in the hope of abolishment of slavery.
