1 Photo-Secession Movement

2 The earliest photography was devoted to its scientific and technical uses.
But by the late 1890s and into the turn of the 20th Century, photographers became more interested in photography as an art in itself.

3 In 1902 Alfred Stieglitz formed the Photo-Secession Movement.
As opposed to Dadaism, the Photo-Secessionist movement was VERY concerned with form and the aesthetic rules of photography.
