1 Agencies of the Executive Branch Decisions made by any agency of the Executive Branch are considered an executive order and have the power of LAW!!!

2 Regulatory Commissions These types of agencies control certain types of businesses and industries. Federal Trade Commissions (FTC)- Prevents monopolies and unfair business practices. Federal Reserve System (FRS)- Establishes general monetary policies. The government’s bank. Federal Communications Commission (FCC)- Regulates radio and television.

3 Executive Agencies These agencies handle specialized areas of government. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)- formed in 1970 it protects and enhances the environment. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)- formed in 1947 it gathers political and military information on foreign nations (Spies). Commission on Civil Rights- formed in 1957 it gathers and evaluates information on discrimination. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)- part of the department of health & human services. It is in charge of the safety of all foods, drugs, and cosmetics sold in the United States.
