1957 Paul McCartney meets John Lennon for the first time when John performs on a makeshift stage with the Quarrymen.
1958 George Harrison is recruited to the band after Paul urges him to play the song “Raunchy” to John Lennon.
1959 The Casbah coffee dance club opens… the Beatles have their first bookings there.
1960 The Beatles play their first gig at The Indra in Hamburg.
The Beatles quickly establish themselves as the most exciting group in Liverpool.
1962 The Beatles sign a five-year contract with Brian Epstein.
1962 The Beatles release their f irst si ngle, Love Me Do.
1964 The Beatles release their first film.
1964 I Want To Hold Your Hand reaches #1 in the USA. By April 1964.
1965 The Beatles release their sixth album.
1967 Brian Epstein dies following a tragic overdose.
1969 The Beatles perform together for the last time.
1970 Abbey Road is released… The Beatles last album.
1980 John Lennon is shot outside his apartment building in New York by Mark David Chapman.

1960 First British performance as The Beatles, at the Casbah Coffee Club.
1962 Record shop owner Brian Epstein becomes their manager.
1963 Recording of their first album, "Please Please Me", is completed.
1966 The "Revolver" album is released.
1967 Epstein is found dead.
1969 "Abbey Road" album was recorded.
1980 John Lennon is shot and killed.
