3 Grid Substation :- Grid – Grid is a technical word used for interconnection of power received from more than one place. Sub station - Substation take the electricity from power plants and from the transmission lines and transform it from higher to lower voltage .

4 Power Transformer:- A transformer is a device that transfers electrical energy from one electrical circuit to another electrical circuit through the medium of magnetic field and without changing in frequency. Types of transformer according to voltage up and down- 1) Step up transformer 2) Step down transformer

6 Current Transformer – Current transformer is a instrument transformer.
It is used for measuring electric current when current in a circuit is too high than a current transformer produces a reduce current which is accurately proportional to the current in circuit.

Potential transformer is a instrument transformer . It is also called the voltage transformer . It is used for the stepping down the system voltage to a safe value.

10 Bus Bar :- Bus bar is a metallic strip or bar which is made by copper, brass & aluminium. It is an electrical conductor, maintain at a specific voltage and capable of a carrying high current, usually used to make a common connection between several circuits of system.

11 CIRCUIT BREAKERS :- A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electric switch which close a circuit or to break a circuit when there is a fault in the system without getting damaged. Its basic function is to detect a fault condition and interrupt current flow.

14 RELAY:- A relay is a automatic device which senses an abnormal condition of electrical circuit and closes its contact.

15 Lightning Arrestor :- A lightning arrestor is a device which is used on electrical power system to protect the insulation and conductors of the system from the damaging effect of lightning or over voltage. Lightning arrestors are also called the surge protectors.

16 Types of Lightning Arrester:-
Expulsion type Valve type / Non linear type Metal oxide type

17 Wave Trap :- Wave trap is also called line trap.
Wave trap work at higher frequencies. A wave trap is used for communication purpose(traps the noise or unnecessary signal) in the substations.

18 Isolators :- Isolator is a mechanical switch which isolates a part of circuit from system from rest for safe maintenance works.
