2. My name is Angela Baker and I am someone who believes that the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program is very important to not only the child but also the adult who volunteers. Because of this I would like to introduce myself for consideration as a volunteer. I am 33 years old, married and mother to a teenage daughter. My husband is in the military and I volunteer as an ombudsman for the Navy and serve as a family education specialist and liaison for the families with any issues they may have. I also work in the insurance industry as an adjuster.

3. I love to camp and enjoy many weekends in the woods during the summer. I also teach others to cook with cast iron cookware and participate in various fairs and cook off challenges around the area. We spend our time in the sand dunes riding motor cycles and at the lake’s riding jet ski’s with our boat as well. I think that being outdoors and enjoying the world is the greatest thing a family and a child can experience.

4. I also enjoy watching movies and going to local cultural events such as concerts, plays and art festivals. I like to spend this time exploring and also use it as a learning experience both for myself and those around me. Its something easy and sometimes free that can be done locally. I think it would be a great thing to take a “Little” to and see them enjoy themselves. I know that from raising my own child each young child deserves and wants some special attention. This is something that I would love to give to them and be able to share my love for the arts and the outdoors with them.

5. I hope that I can be a volunteer for many reasons. 1. My love for the outdoors 2. My love to spend time learning 3. My enjoyment of teaching others 4. My respect and regard for the family unit and helping those that need it. Please call me if I can be a part of this organization!
