1 Procedures, Rules and Expectations 2013-2014 Mirage Elementary Physical Education

3 1. Drink water before, during and after school 2. Apply SPF 30 sunblock before school 3. Wear athletic, closed toed shoes, tied tightly for safety 4. Wear clothes you can easily move in like shorts, sweatpants and clothes that stretch 5. Bring and wear a hat to protect yourself from the sun 6. Water bottles with your name on it are encouraged or take water breaks 7. Remove jewelry, specifically watches, bracelets, and rings before class

4 1) COME PREPARED FOR CLASS AND ALWAYS TRY YOUR BEST- If you need to change your shoes, do it before class. Remove jewelry, money and cell phones and leave in the classroom. Get into correct squad or huddle in oranges immediately. A large part of your achievement grade is based on effort. Give your best effort at all times! 2) BE A GOOD LISTENER- Do not move when someone is speaking. Eyes should be on the speaker, hands and feet in own space and quiet and mouth closed. Raise your hand to speak. 3) TREAT OTHERS WITH RESPECT- Always encourage others, never use put downs. 4) USE EQUIPMENT CORRECTLY- Treat equipment with respect, using equipment for what it is intended for. 5) ALWAYS FOLLOW DIRECTIONS- Prevent wasted time. Do not interfere with learning.

5  Make Your Day is a citizenship and discipline program used school wide  No one has the right to interfere with the learning, safety, or well-being of others

6 Achievement /Responsibility  Students who earn 5 points ALWAYS:  Follow directions  Actively participates  Use equipment appropriately  Come prepared with appropriate shoes and clothing  Work well with others during skill work and organized play  Stay on task and work on their own

7 Achievement /Responsibility Students who earn 4 points ALMOST ALWAYS: Follow directions Actively participates Use equipment appropriately Come prepared with appropriate shoes and clothing Work well with others during skill work and organized play Stay on task and work on their own

8 Achievement /Responsibility Students who earn 3 points USUALLY: Follow directions Actively participate Use equipment appropriately Come prepared with appropriate shoes and clothing Work well with others during skill work and organized play Stay on task and work on their own

11 Citizenship  Students who earn 5 points ALWAYS:  Respect others  Display good sportsmanship  Listen carefully during instruction  Use "put ups" and not put downs  Are positive role models to classmates
