3 Class Rules 1.Personal Best 2.Personal Respect 3.Personal Responsibility Failure to follow rules will result in progressive discipline

4 Locker Room Rules 1.Running and chasing are prohibited 2.Standing on benches is prohibited 3.Throwing of items is prohibited 4.Pick up after yourself 5.No physical contact allowed 6.Food and gum are prohibited Failure to follow rules will result in progressive discipline

5 Discipline Policy 1 st offense – verbal warning 2 nd offense – sit out/cool off and teacher/student conference 3 rd offense – removal from activity and parent contact 4 th offense – Dean’s referral Some infractions are serious enough to warrant a referral to the Dean for the initial incident – i.e. fighting

6 Grading - Overall  90% - 100% =A  80% - 89% = B  70% - 79% = C  60% - 69% = D  Below 59% = F

7 Grading Semester  45% - 1 st or 3 rd quarter  45% - 2 nd or 4 th quarter  10% - final exam Quarter  60% - participation  30% - tests/quizzes  10% - homework

8 Daily Grading  6 points per day  Daily point rubric

9 Personal Best 4 – Extra Credit Gives top effort daily, models a high level of participation, self-motivated, committed to improving personal fitness, encourages others. 3 Consistent daily effort, good level of participation, displays quality movement during activity time, stays on task, maintains personal fitness. 2 Needs some reminders to participate, puts forth minimum effort, contributes little to activity, does not work hard to improve personal fitness. 1 Poor effort, little or no movement during activity, numerous excuses for inactivity, socializing interferes with participation and the flow of the activity. 0 Avoids participation, excessive socialization, off task, interferes with the learning of others, displays a poor attitude towards the daily activity. Personal Respect 4 – Extra Credit Models exemplary sports like behavior and a positive attitude, positive and fair game play, accepts winning and losing respectfully, shows respect towards others. 3 Consistently follows rules, good attitude, displays cooperation, works hard for self and others, and treats equipment with care. 2 Inconsistently follows the rules, plays well when on the winning team or when being observed by the teacher, careless with the equipment. 1 Uncooperative, bends the rules to suit self, displays inappropriate frustration and anger towards others, celebrates the mistakes of others. 0 Physical or verbal abuse to others, doesn’t follow rules, complains about the task, concern only for self, abuses equipment.

13 Locker Room Procedures  Enter and exit quietly  Use restrooms before or after class  Lock ALL personal items in locker  Lockers are for PE use only  Teachers are not responsible for lost or stolen items

14 Absences  After returning, the student must initiate contact with Ms. Murray to receive missed assignments  Student must complete make-up work assignment(s) within 3 days of returning  Lengthy absences will be allotted more time

15  Students are expected to be in the proper PE uniform each day  Shirt, shorts and shoes  There is ZERO tolerance for nondress  You may NOT wear your school clothes under your PE uniform  If you do not have your PE clothes you will still participate Dress Out Policy

17 Cell Phones Cell phones are to be locked in your locker. Do not bring your phone to the activity area. You may not use your phone during changing times.
