2 Fitz’s Fast Facts  He was born into a small fortune on his mother’s side and lived off of her inheritance as a child.  He was unable to marry the beautiful girl of his dreams until he had money.  Once in this relationship he developed a drinking problem and his wife had a mental breakdown.  He lived during this fascinating and exciting jazz age. He was in the prime of his life in the 1920’s when he was an extravagant playboy.

8 Similarities His life and his novels were based around money, extravagance, and greed. His characters mostly lived in the jazz age as he did. In his life he met many people and fell in love only to have it fall apart which can be seen in many of his literary works.
