Goals of this Session Change our perspective from Program Directors & Athletic Training faculty → site visitors –Leave ready to evaluate our programs with eyes of a site visitor Encourage discussion b/n different programs & program faculty Become more familiar with the new 2005 Accreditation Standards

Disclaimer!!! What we CANNOT do… –Address specific questions relating to your programs These questions should be submitted to JRC-AT office through official communication (mail or e- mail) –Make assumptions that our findings of today's scenarios are endorsed by JRC-AT or other organizations

Lets remember… The Purpose of Accreditation MINIMUM –Provide a MINIMUM standard of education –Protect the public –Protect the student –So the accreditation documents are guidelines that establish the minimum standards Room for improvement & advancement

My two cents… verifyThe site visit team is there to verify info from the self-study –They should not be “out to get you” like a detective pursuing Americas most wanted –They can even assist you sometimes, so don’t miss the opportunity to utilize the visit team to help the program
