2 EPI 1. SERVICE DELIVERY Strengthen delivery outreaches with emphasis on integrated outreaches Strengthen integration of ANC with TT immunization by practising focused ANC 2. LOGISTICS Establish an effective and efficient logistics management information system to ensure regular supply of standard EPI commodities at all levels and at all times (limit/avoid stock outs)

3 EPI cont 3. VACCINE SUPPLY Establish and maintain cold chain equipment inventory monitoring system at all levels Build capacity for vaccine management at all levels 4. POLICY, PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT All Districts are to ensure availability of the EPI policy at all service points.

ADVOCACY AND COMMUNICATION Institutionalize health worker- community dialogue to increase acceptance of EPI activities within communities/districts Involve Religious and Cultural leaders, Opinion leaders and civil Societies in advocating for EPI activities Enhance school involvement in EPI target diseases

5 EPI cont 6. SURVEILLANCE Provide focused support to staff to achieve targets Distribute relevant documents for surveillance of EPI target diseases 7. SUPERVISION MONITORING AND EVALUATION Conduct supportive supervision and monitoring at all levels and provide feedback on coverage, dropout rates and vaccine wastage.

6 REPRODUCTIVE AND CHILD HEALTH 1. REDUCE MATERNAL MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY Ensure that basic, essential obstetric care is available in all districts and ensure Focused ANC is available in all our facilities Improve the capacity of staff, family and community members in home-based life-saving skills Ensure availability of comprehensive abortion care (CAC) services as permitted by law Strengthen maternal audit at all levels Strengthen health education at all levels Ensure availability of an emergency referral and transport plan that links communities with sub- district, district and regional EOC facilities

7 REDUCE NEONATAL MORTALITY Increase capacity of neonatal care Providers and implement appropriate measures for neonatal resuscitation Promote early initiation and continuation of exclusive breastfeeding Promote the initiation of and adherence to a programme of infant immunization and growth promotion

8 DHIMS Ensure in-house capacity building for DHIMS application Track both reporting and non-reporting facilities and give appropriate feedback, and support non-reporting facilities. BMC heads are to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of entering data into the DHIMS platform

9 INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (IPC) Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practices should be embedded as a core item of the management agenda, and hold staff accountable (as appropriate to their function) Effective training schemes on IPC is being planned by RHD to meet the needs of all staff at all levels. Create a high level of awareness of IPC among all staff at all levels Provide the needed logistics and support at all levels

10 RMS DEBT COLLECTION STRATEGY Prioritize collection strategy using amounts owed, months late, and payment potential Negotiate written and verbal agreements that will keep payment on track and on schedule Debt Collection teams to visit BMCs to recover all outstanding debts Encourage reconciliation of accounts with BMCs by RMS

11 MAINTENANCE OF ESTATES, TRANSPORT AND EQUIPMENT Have PPM schedules of estates, transport and equipment Ensure strict adherence to PPM schedules Ensure timely submission of reports HUMAN RESOURCE Ensure equitable distribution of staff (skill mix and numbers) Strengthen training at all levels Motivate staff Ensure regular availability of basic needed logistics Institutionalize award system such as best worker awards etc.

12 FINANCE AND AUDIT Strengthen internal control systems Improve supervision and monitoring Ensure all BMCs have ARIC in place Ensure timely submission of audit reports Ensure expenditures are in line with approved budgets
