2 Objectives  Provide you with information that will assist in completing the most academically appropriate schedule request for your student.  Help in your student’s transition from middle school to high school. **Presentations will be made available on our website following the program.

3 TSD Graduation Requirements Class of 2017  22.5 credits required to graduate. 18.5 required credits, 4.0 Elective  Credits are earned on a semester basis. With the traditional 6 period day, students earn 3 credits per semester and 6 credits per year.  Required credits: English – 4 creditsMath – 4 credits Science – 3 creditsSocial Studies – 3 credits Health – 0.5 credit Physical Education – 1 credit World Language** – 2 credits Fine Arts/Applied Arts/CTE – 1 credit

9 Suggested Electives – 2.0 credits  Intro to Phys. 11 Alternates – Extremely Important!  When making your course selections, you must also select alternates in place of your elective requests.  Our first priority is to make sure all students get their requested core classes. Elective classes sometimes will not work within the core requests, which is why your alternates are so crucial.  If you fail to make alternate selections, you could be placed in something you are not interested in!

13 Honors/Advanced Placement  Recommended for a higher level class, but not sure if its right for you? Remember this…  Freshman offerings: Honors 9 English Literature and Composition AP Human Geography  Classes designated as “AP” will be awarded GPA Honor points as follows: A = 5.00 B = 3.75 C = 2.50 D = 1.25

14 Important Dates  Counselor Visits Larson – February 12th Baker – February 27th Smith – February 28th  Freshman Registration – August 23, 2013 (Tentative) (All registration documents will be available for download in early August on our website – they will not be mailed.)  New Student Night – August 26, 2013 (Tentative)

16 Additional Questions?  After this presentation, counselors will be available for you to meet with for questions.
