4 What’s so neat about it What's so cool about this type of photography is that he captures athletes in motion. This is very neat because his pictures capture the moment in games where the exciting part is about to happen. What's so cool about this type of photography is that he captures athletes in motion. 5 Equipment He’s been using digital cameras now full time, every day, since the end of 1999. For a couple of years in the beginning, they were difficult to use. The autofocus didn't work, they produced small file sizes, and had difficulty with color and noise. Now, he loves them and would never go back to film. Still, it is a love / hate relationship. The technical quality of the color and noise can be excellent, but the autofocus with the 1D Mark III is a problem. He’s been using digital cameras now full time, every day, since the end of 1999.
