I do want a paper copy. Alone:  Read “from Deep Survival” (98-102). Purpose for reading Use “from Deep Survival” to determine if the result of the story “To Build a Fire” was predictable. 2  Alone:  Read “from Deep Survival” (98-102). Purpose for reading Use “from Deep Survival” to determine if the result of the story “To Build a Fire” was predictable. When you have finished get a computer from the back of the room and log on. As a table:  Select 3 rules from the article.  1—the man did; 1—the man didn’t do; 1—either  Find evidence (eg quotations) from the story “To Build a Fire” which address these items.  Discuss if the result was predictable given what is learned in the article. These could become the body paragraphs of an essay. From “Deep Survival”

3  Essay Prompt: Using “from Deep Survival” determine if the result of the story “To Build a Fire” was predictable Individually pick one paragraph and write it:  Topic sentence.  Pieces of Evidence which shows that the man did or didn’t follow the rule.  Interpretation of the evidence. Make sure it focuses on the evidence. Make sure you use one of the three methods of interpretation. Last piece:  As a group read each other’s paragraph (I suggest sharing the google doc) and decide as a group which follows the pattern and organization of a persuasive paragraph best according to the notes. Put all members names on the top of the paragraph and share this with me. Product
