2  …instead of, NOT in addition to…  Students are NOT expected to make up work done while in Seminar or STEM.  Teachers are aware of when students leave and plan accordingly.  SDI: “Make-up work will generally not be required when working with the gifted education teacher.”

10  Grade 4:  Martins Run/Wesley Enhanced Living  Orientation Night – Tuesday, October 13 at 6:45  List Gallery – October 20, 10:15-11:45  Intergenerational program to inspire historic fiction writing  6 trips spaced throughout the year  End of day  Need parents to pick up at 3:25!  Media?? Rose Valley?? Historic homes??  Newlin Grist Mills??

11  Grade 3:  University of Pennsylvania Museum  Introduction to ancient cultures  November  Possibly a second trip in May  Need chaperones (clearances)

12  1 hour per week by grade level, 3-5  Grade 3: Wednesdays 2:15-3:15  Scratch programming all year  Grade 4: Tuesdays 11:40-12:40 with lunch option  Scratch then Robotics  Grade 5: Thursdays 2:20-3:20  Robotics then Scratch  COPPA forms  Help is welcome!

14  Spelling  Determined through developmental spelling assessments  15 minutes on Mondays and Fridays  I present lesson and word lists  homework is assigned and checked by classroom teacher with MY words

15  DIFFERENTIATED CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION  Bulk of student’s time is in regular classroom, so teachers differentiate for the wide range of abilities in each classroom  “just right” reading levels  “turn and talk” partners  “book groups”  Feedback on writing  Flexibly grouped math classes
