I'm Eimy, I'm 17 years old and I'm from Honduras. I been living in Chicago for 5 years now. My shop is cabinet making but has nothing related with what I want to do with the rest of my life. I’m still not sure what path I want to take yet but for now I want it to be related with medical stuff. From the IBCC program I hope to get a good scholarship and college credits.

Luckily, I got to visit one of the most historical places in the United States during summer, I learned a few things while I had a mini tour around the small town. Many Europeans came to explore there in the 1700s and attempted to colonize the city. Many attacks by Native Americans were place there through out the civil war.

Experiences like these made me realized that no matter how small and boring a town sounds doesn’t mean there’s nothing interesting about them, in fact they could have more history than bigger towns. Knowing this, I really look forward to visit more small towns like Beauport because of their history.

Since I was already in south Carolina, I wanted to learn more about its history since I read about it in History class and I found it so amusing how pretty the town still is now a day. I will apply all this new information on my travel list that I owned and go through it whenever I need the info. Aspects as learning history and the traditions of Beauport were practiced when I was there.

Holy Land is a Christian theme park at Orlando, Florida which I found it very cultural since its all theme as the ancient city of Jerusalem and it was quiet interesting. Felt like I was actually there. Of course I learned about Jesus and things from the bible I never heard of.

I will forever remembered this experience, it reminded me of my religion that has been fading away inside me. I didn’t really choose to come here but since I had the chance to go it was a great way to learn new things about God & Jesus. Caring is one of the aspects as an IBCC student, this event made me think and care even more about life.

The Puerto Rican festival was held “en el barrio fino” Humboldt Park. It was really fun, there was actually not only Puerto Ricans there. There was so much food and I got to try my ultimate favorite Jibaritos there. Also they had a lot of music playing.

I really enjoyed my time at the festival and I'm definitely going next year and bring my family. I decided to go to this festival because I don’t really have that many Puerto Rican friends so that festival was a great way to find out more about their people and culture.
