25. www.hvac.vn DX - Applications Water Filtration Used to initiate backwash of the filter. These can be bag filters, sand filters, and disc filters. Starts on increase of differential pressure. Filters are varied in application from irrigation systems to cooling towers.

26. www.hvac.vn DX - Applications Coolant Filters Used to initiate backwash of filter. Starts on increase of differential pressure. These are filters used to clean the coolant used on machining systems. Cleans out the metal bits from the coolant.

The majority of integrators and installers feel these are problematic and throw them away and use a DP switch or current switch. Trane variable flow pump units tend to use DP switches as a current switch doesn’t work as well on variable speed driven pumps.

29. www.hvac.vn DX – Application: BAS AC Units or Heat Pumps Used in buildings on the condenser water loop that goes between the cooling tower on the roof to the AC unit in a particular zone in a building. Usually each floor has one AC unit. Used in all high-rises.
