www.hvac.vn 629 - Applications Monitor differential pressures across: Flow elements Heat exchangers Filters Pumps Coils

www.hvac.vn DX - Introduction Differential Pressure Switch for water Gives us a low cost product to round out product offering as an alternative to the H3 and DP

www.hvac.vn DX - Key Specifications Temperature Limits: -1 to 60  C Enclosure Rating: IP66 Maximum Pressure: 13.8 bar Repeatability:  2% of full range Process Connection: 1/4” – 18 NPT Female Wetted Materials: Brass and Viton (Option for Buna N)

www.hvac.vn DX - Key Specifications Switch Type: SPDT snap switch Electrical Rating: 5A @ 125 VAC, 3A @ 250 VAC, 4A @ 30 VDC Electrical Connection: Removable terminal block Conduit Connection: Hole for conduit hub, optional cable gland

www.hvac.vn DX - Key Specifications Agency Approvals: UL508, ULc, CE Set Point Adjustment: External, hand adjustable hex head screw Mounting Orientation: Vertical,  10 

www.hvac.vn DX - Ranges

www.hvac.vn DX - Features Pipe or flush mount with provided mounting ears Weatherproof construction High static pressure rating Tight deadband External set point adjustment

www.hvac.vn DX - Applications Water Filtration Used to initiate backwash of the filter. These can be bag filters, sand filters, and disc filters. Starts on increase of differential pressure. Filters are varied in application from irrigation systems to cooling towers.

www.hvac.vn DX - Applications Coolant Filters Used to initiate backwash of filter. Starts on increase of differential pressure. These are filters used to clean the coolant used on machining systems. Cleans out the metal bits from the coolant.

www.hvac.vn DX – Application: BAS Chillers Proves flow of liquid from pump through the chiller. Often called evaporator water pressure drop.

www.hvac.vn DX – Application: Chiller All Trane units are pre-packaged with a vane flow switch. The majority of integrators and installers feel these are problematic and throw them away and use a DP switch or current switch. Trane variable flow pump units tend to use DP switches as a current switch doesn’t work as well on variable speed driven pumps.

www.hvac.vn DX – Application: BAS AC Units or Heat Pumps Used in buildings on the condenser water loop that goes between the cooling tower on the roof to the AC unit in a particular zone in a building. Usually each floor has one AC unit. Used in all high-rises.

www.hvac.vn DX – Application: BAS AC Units or Heat Pumps Often called a “Condenser Water Lock-Out Switch”. AC unit will freeze up if no flow through it. Heat Pump Manufacturers: Climate Master, Aon, Mammoth, Carrier, etc.

www.hvac.vn DX – Application: BAS Key for BAS applications is the low set point. They are trip on a decrease of DP, so the unit can be set to.035 bar. Also key is tight deadband for early reset on increase of pressure.

www.hvac.vn DX - Application General Industry Pump flow proving with DP across the pump. Flow proving with a flow element such as a venturi or an orifice plate.
