4 NATURAL RESOURCES:  Nevada's natural resources are its mineral deposits (copper, mercury, tungsten, gold, silver), wildlife, and beautiful scenery.  Gold mining in Nevada, a state of the United States, is a major industry, and one of the largest sources of gold in the world. Nevada currently mines 79% of all the gold in the United States, which is equivalent to 5,640,000 troy ounces (2009)  The Comstock was the first important silver-mining district in the United States, and its discovery stimulated a great deal of prospecting for silver across the Great Basin area of the United States.
