2. Graphs Data must be shown in a way that allows others to understand your results easily and rapidly. There are many types of graphs. The type of graph that you use depends upon the data that you have collected and the hypothesis that you want to illustrate. What types of graphs do you know about? 7. Graphing Rules: 1. When constructing graphs by hand, always use graph paper! 2. The title of the graph should reflect the hypothesis or the parameters graphed. 3. Place the independent variable on the horizontal (X) axis. Place the dependent variable on the vertical (Y) axis.

The constructed plot should take up most of the space provided. 7. The highest number on each axis should be slightly above your highest values of the data.
