A Rebel Style Abstract expressionism was known as rebellious because it’s techniques and general style went against the specific art movement of the time; mainly European art. Action Paintings Action painting was a way critics described Pollock’s work because he put all his energy and life into his works. He would literally throw or drip his paint onto the canvas.
