4.  Consider and provide recommendations to implement a consortial approach to purchasing ebooks, with the possible goal of sharing titles purchased by individual members.  Examine the idea of centrally funding an ebook collection to which all VALE members have access.

5.  1) Perform an environmental scan, beginning with a brief survey, to prioritize the focus of the shared collection; and assess whether a number of different shared collections might best fit the needs of different kinds of VALE libraries.

6.  2) Hold an ebook Collections Demo Day in late May/early June with presentations by early ebook collections adapters from VALE libraries and by vendors, with the help of Eric Zino and Timothy Cherubini of Lyrasis.

7.  3) Communicate with key people involved in other shared ebook collection initiatives, such as the Orbis Cascade Alliance (covering Oregon and Washington) and VIVA (covering Virginia).  4) Write a report on findings and recommendations for VALE.
