2 „Cities on Internet” Association, Tarnów, Poland „Cities on Internet” Association  Founded 1997 by the professionals – representatives of local&regional governments to develop eGovernment in Poland  Consultancy, IT audit, workshops, COI Conference  International activities (EU, UNDP, Soros Found), also in Central Asia  Since 2001 co-operation with Ministry of Interior and Public Administration and Ministry of Science  Experts involved in realization of several eGovernment development projects

4 „Cities on Internet” Association, Tarnów, Poland Visual Admin project IST-2000-28248  Project started in June of 2001 will be realized until end of August 2003  Front office solution - an eGovernment tool to make easier for citizens, businesses and administration to interact with each other  Providing citizens and businesses with a global view on relevant information  Setting better work conditions for civil servants by supporting and improving workflow  Rising efficiency of administrations.

5 „Cities on Internet” Association, Tarnów, Poland Visual Admin project IST-2000-28248  Innovation in technology:  One stop shop logic  Customer relationship management  Mobile access services  Voice recognition  User oriented and tested:  Pilot phase of the project to commence in local administrations in France, Italy and Poland

6 „Cities on Internet” Association, Tarnów, Poland MAP project IST-2001-34001  Project has began in March 2002, will be realized for two years  Aim is to create a front end e-assistance system integrating existing in house information  MAP system will assist civil servants by performing semantic analyses providing the employee with shortcuts to solutions therefore increasing the quality of service.

7 „Cities on Internet” Association, Tarnów, Poland MAP project IST-2001-34001  Innovative approach:  „sniffer” agent – interceptor of dialogue, semantic analysis  Natural Language Recognition interface  Mobile access, UMTS ready  Strong involvement of users in the project, pilot phase will include extensive testing of the system prototype in public administrations.

8 „Cities on Internet” Association, Tarnów, Poland Masterplan for eGovernment in Poland  Project carried in 2002, by Polish company - EMCom Ltd. and Sequoyah International from Flanders with objectives to:  describe the present state of ICT advancement in Polish public administration;  present alternative plans for implementation of ICT (with consideration of e-Government), based on experiences of firms and public bodies from Flanders in particular and the European Union in general.

10 „Cities on Internet” Association, Tarnów, Poland Poland Development Gateway (PlDG)  Project being currently run by EMCom Ltd. with the mission to: “Strengthen, foster and facilitate innovative and effective use of communication and information technologies (ICT) in administration, business sector and society as whole in order to quality of life improvement and “digital divide bridging”.

11 „Cities on Internet” Association, Tarnów, Poland Poland Development Gateway  Main objectives of Poland Development Gateway include:  Familiarising Polish public administration sector with eGovernment, knowledge based economy, eLearning and eDemocracy issues;  Building bridge between Polish, European and U.S. public administration’s experiences in the field of ICT implementation;  Facilitation of access to the knowledge on sustainable development, solutions and opportunities in Poland;  Building, mobilization, and upgrade local and regional content and capacity, facilitate the expert dialogues on the variety of issues.
