7. Centre for Architectural Heritage (IWAN) 2000 - 2012 Location of Gaza Strip It is located south west of Palestine on the Eastern coast of the Mediterranean sea. It is the link between Asia and Africa continents. It is about 41 km long, and between 6 and 12 km wide, with a total area of 360 square km. The Gaza Strip acquired its current boundaries at the cessation of fighting in the 1948 Arab–Israeli War The territory takes its name from Gaza, its main city.
