9 The Interview…… IIf nervous… Practice 1 st SSchedule.. Convenient for…? YYou OOffice. BBe PREPARED!!! HHow? BE ON TIME!!!! AAt least 5 min early. DDo you have? Portfolio Copies of RResume, etc. Ink pen IInfo to complete an application

11  Appearance Comfortable..but Professional  Never wear jeans!  Hygiene Hair? Hygiene  Mouth  Body (deodorant is for after showers, not instead of..)

12 The Interview  Be yourself… If nervous, say so!  Pronounce Dr’s name correctly Always address as  Dr.________  Be prepared for.. Sent if you want the position. Restate…  Thanks for interview  Reference to resume  Interest in.. Position Becoming part of the team.

14 Receiving an offer…..Whoo Hoo!  Before accepting Ask about  Salary  Benefits  Sick days  Vacation  Holiday pay  Performance evaluations  Pay increases

15 Success during employment!  1.Attitude  Positive / professional at all times!  2.Attendance  Show up every day, ON TIME!  3.Appearance  Clean and neat every day.  4.Teachable / Trainable  Learn new ‘tricks’ to the trade.  5.Initiative  Do your job w/out being told to “do your job!”  Look for ways to help others  “Team Player”

17 Conclusion  Finding / getting a job is one of the most difficult “jobs” there is….  You are competing with other people for the same jobs….!  What is going to get an employer to hire you, not that ‘other’ person.  Remember, your employment success is a balance of attitude and ability.  Any questions?
