10 Minnesota Submarine League Minnesota Submarine League Background 2010 Started as USSVI subcommittee to bring home the Sail from USS Minneapolis St. Paul 2013 Contributors joined the group from other related groups (Navy League, USNAA), then formed as Minnesota Submarine League the following goals: Commemorating Minnesota’s name sake boats (USS Minneapolis – St. Paul SSN 708, USS Minnesota SSN 783) Highlighting Minnesota’s innovators that contributed to submarine technology Utilize submarine technology in a youth STEM education program December 2014, joined with AirSpace Minnesota

11 Minnesota Submarine League Air Space Minnesota Formed in 2012 with the following purpose: Commemorate the past by illuminating the region’s great legacy and the role models who made it happen. Showcase people and ideas at work today – the role models who are developing today’s innovations that will transform the future. Educate by providing STEM learning experiences that build STEM skills and help learners find pathways to success.STEM

19 Minnesota Submarine League Aviation Learning Center The Aviation Learning Center at the Downtown St. Paul Airport will be part of a menu of STEM experiences that is unique in the nation. Designed for learners of all ages, this “STEMport” will serve school and youth groups from around the Upper Midwest, inspiring them to dream big and grow their skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The Aviation Learning center will be the first center to duplicate the innovative Aviation Learning Center from the Museum of Flight in Seattle http://www.airspacemn.org/educate-stem-learning
