7 Negative body image Have a bad perception of your shape – you see your body differently than it is. Think that other people find you unattractive See your size or shape as a personal failure. Appreciate and celebrate your natural body shape Understand that a person’s physical appearance is only a part of who they are. 14 Questions for Red group *Find the sentences *Decide if it’s a positive or a negative comment * Discuss in your group how this comments affect you or others

15 Blue Group Look at all the pictures as a group Decide weather the advertisement is a “winner” ( sending a positive non stereotyped message) or “offender” (sending a stereotyped, ideal message) Place them on the two columns

16 Yellow Group Lay out all the sentences Find the statements that makes sense. There are 4 different. Decide as a group where should you place the sentence ( leading to positive self concept- leading to negative self concept) Come up with two original statement as a group

21 Towards a positive body image… Be aware of the factors that contribute to your own body image Concentrate on being healthy and having a healthy weight. Change your focus: instead of concentrating on what you don’t like about your self, pay attention to the things you like about your self Make positive comments about your own body and the bodies of others.
