Machinists' Parts Drawings Heat Exchanger (HE) block Authorized Access Keith Sawa Findlay’s Machine Shop

Drawing A- elevational end view Cut from 316L (SS) flat strap 2.5” thick 5” wide. Start from raw cut 5” wide x 5” long 2.5” thick.

Drawing B- elevational face end view Cut polygon 8 sides external dimensions are inscribed within a 5” diameter circle to end up with OD to fit within a 5.003” bore.

Drawing C- elevational end view bore locations Bore thru all 16 small holes (from center) circular lines are not cut paths but locations from center marker. Bore thru all 8 medium holes and polish fine to mirror finish as good as possible. Bore thru center hole.

Drawing D- elevational end view dimensional Bore eight.125” diameter thru in location 4.0 diameter centerlines, bore eight.250” diameter thru @2.8125”, bore eight.125” diameter thru @ 1.6250. Bore one.750” thru center cross.

Drawing E- Glow Plug bores The glow plug bores will need to be calculated in diameter and thread clearances by machinist and bored to fit tightly. One chosen glow plug needs to be supplied to the machinist so he can cut to fit.

Drawing F- elevational side view Glow plug bores centered on flats. Details on specific dimensions is not relevant however for example the bores were originally sized for Bosh 10mm threaded and are different than the Autolite viewed drawing E.

Drawing G- elevational rear end view (WG) bore This bore dimension is to receive an 8mm threaded piece that will be supplied to the machinist. No other changes exist in the rear end surface.

Drawing H- elevational cross sectional side view. On the face end (left) there are fittings that are threadably affixed into the bores centered on the drawing D @ the 2.8125 diameter location. These fittings are 1/8”npt male to thread into 1/8”npt female threaded bores. On the rear end surface (right) are the 8mm threaded holes.

What is needed is an approximate close estimate of simply what is disclosed in fact which are; 1) the specific price of the piece of material i.e. the 316L raw strap 2.5” thick x 5” wide, 2) the approximate cost to machine to dimension the block and bore all detailed holes thru, 3) and, the timeline projected for machine shop to complete simply what has been detailed within the past 8 HE drawings A thru H. Send any correspondence to 5group@deighta.com5group@deighta.com Thank you Keith, and I am looking forward to your work on our project. As usual time is our secondary concern to quality, and that’s why I contacted you first.
