CONFIDENTIAL

STORE OPS Session is designed to help you understanding and learn how to configure touchscreens and softkeys for Ruby2 and Topaz registers. Configuring Touchscreens and Softkeys

CONFIDENTIAL Preface Contents of this instructional session are meant to be used as a guide. Information is subject to change. Covered in the session: Configuration of Touchscreens Configuration of Soft keys for the Topaz Open Session 3

CONFIDENTIAL Buttons and Keys! The only item in the store that can be rang up without using keys or the touchscreen buttons are PLUs. All other functions, menus, and departments require a key to be created. 4 Soft keys Touchscreen

CONFIDENTIAL Touchscreens The Ruby2 has only a touch screen, but the Topaz has both a touchscreen and a keyboard. The touchscreen configuration form allows fuel keys, buttons, parked menus, and virtual receipt orientation to be configured and assigned to the sales touchscreen. Touchscreens are configured in Configuration Client > Store Operations > Touchscreens Basic Information 5

CONFIDENTIAL Touchscreens Register selection window allows a register to be selected for configuration. Also allows register’s touchscreens to be copied to another available register. NEVER USE DEFAULT! If a register isn’t showing up in the drop down: Logout and back into sales Power cycle the register and refresh the Configuration Client window. 6 Select Register

CONFIDENTIAL Touchscreens Select a Screen window allows for multiple sales screens to be configured. Select New to create a new screen, delete to delete a screen, copy to copy an existing screen, and back to return to the register selection screen. Select load to open up the screen configuration for your selected screen 7 Screen Selection

CONFIDENTIAL Touchscreens Allows fuel keys for the POS touchscreen to be set and should already be configured by the installer. Only exists on the first screen. Fixed prepay button amounts can be configured here. Amounts appear on the fueling when its viewed on the register. 8 Fuel Panel

CONFIDENTIAL Touchscreens Parked menu’s can exist on only one screen. It does not have to be the first screen. Display PLU menus on a designated location that is defined in this tab. Rather than having the menu open up a new window it will simply display the items in the menu on the configured touchscreen buttons. 9 Parked Menus

CONFIDENTIAL Touchscreens Where departments, functions, menus, MOPs, or PLUs can be assigned to the touchscreen. Any button that is not used should be assigned the “Not Used” option. Special Consideration: When setting up a screen for a Ruby2 there are no Method of Payment buttons configured by default. It is recommended to configure the commonly used method of payments and even functions to the screen. If more than one screen is being used it may be ideal to add these keys to multiple screens so that the sale can be tendered out faster 10 User Panel

CONFIDENTIAL Touchscreens Preview / Edit Can be used to add buttons but will show how the buttons will display graphically on the POS. Does not show a key as it does on the main user panel screen. 11 User Panel

CONFIDENTIAL Touchscreens Screen name can be changed here Virtual receipt orientation can be changed to left or right. No reboots are required for this change despite the notes. Simply log out and back into sales mode on the POS and the setting will update. Save configurations that were created in Configuration Client. Log out and back into sales mode on the POS to receive the updated screen information. 12 Screen Settings

CONFIDENTIAL Soft keys Configuration Client > Store Operations > Register > Soft Key Tab Double wide keys vs. single keys The entire physical keyboard has two posts under every double-wide key. (its two single keys under one button) To separate keys for configuration click the key and it will un-attach itself. Keys with similar types, such as the same PLU or department, may show as a double-wide key on the soft key map, but be a single key on the physical keyboard. It will just assign both key caps on the keyboard the same function. 13

CONFIDENTIAL Soft keys Before assigning a key! If you want the configuration to download to all register then select the controller from the register drop down. If the keys need to be setup differently for each register then select each register separately. Click a key to add a function. Select the options from the pop up window and then confirm your selection. The map should update. Keyboards can be copied by using the Copy Registers screen. 14

CONFIDENTIAL Key Points to Remember Touchscreens should only be configured on existing registers and never on the default register. Touchscreen buttons are configured in the user panel section. Soft keys are only configured for Topaz registers. To update the registers they must be logged out of sales and back into sales mode. 15
