LearnZillion (learnzillion.com) is an online learning platform that helps teachers and parents meet the educational needs of every student. We provide teachers and parents with high quality video lessons and teaching materials--produced by top teachers from around the country. Each lesson highlights a Common Core standard and can be assigned directly to students or used to plan high quality lessons.

LearnZillion began with video lessons. Check out our 4,000+ video lessons to enhance your teaching ●Short and highly conceptual, our videos unlock the nuance of each standard. ●Use them preteach, reteach, for intervention or homework, or pause/start them in class as you facilitate.

FREE lessons help teachers & parents understand and teach the Common Core.

These lessons were built by a growing community of incredible teachers—the LearnZillion Dream Team

What is LearnZillion?

Let’s Dive Deeper into the MATH

Last year, LearnZillion included math lessons. More than just a plan, our math lessons include everything you need. Rigorous lessons with all presentation materials 3 levels of printable practice problems Teacher notes and questions for students Formative assessments Intervention and extension support

Launch Debrief Big idea Task Closing Practice Formative assessment Intervention & extension Task-based lesson resources and presentation materials help you increase rigor and save time Lessons start with tasks for student-centered teaching and learning 3 levels of printable practice help you differentiate A formative assessment helps you act immediately Additional resources help you provide support or challenge students

We start with the basics - a lesson title and description ●Title and author ●Targeted standards ●Big Ideas in the lesson ●Vocabulary

We provide materials to help you and your students prep ●Links to prior knowledge lesson videos ●Notes about any special materials needed to implement the lesson

The Core Lesson task begins with a “Launch” ●Engages students’ in a real world or mathematical problem connected to the day’s learning ●Stimulates prior knowledge

Students are then presented with a rigorous task ●Addresses big ideas in the lesson ●Provides clear problem, activity, construction, or project for students ●Requires students to reason, explain, or illustrate mathematical ideas

Teacher notes and questions are included to help you facilitate ●Provide guidelines and commentary for implementing the lesson ●Guiding questions to assess, advance, elicit, or probe student understanding ●Common misconceptions or errors explain and anticipate likely understandings or roadblocks ●Possible solution paths model or explain likely approaches to the task

Lead a student-centered math discussion in the Task Debrief ●Share solutions ●Review key concepts ●Explore and model possible solution paths

Review the Big Ideas to help students crystalize key concepts ●Share solutions ●Review key concepts ●Explore and model possible solution paths

The Closing asks students to articulate key principles ●Pose questions and prompts designed to elicit evidence of student understanding ●Can be used to facilitate discussion or writing

We then include 3 levels of Practice Exercises ●Set A: provides extra scaffolding for students who struggle with the concepts ●Set B: designed for students who have demonstrated understanding, but need extra practice ●Set C: for students who are ready to develop a deeper understanding

Use our Formative Assessment to evaluate student understanding ●Formative assessment designed to reveal student understandings

Intervention and Extension resources help you support all students ●Intervention Support provides links to video lessons that target specific student misunderstandings ●Extension Support links to video lessons that build on the mathematical concepts in the lesson

What’s New? LearnZillion App for students App Features: LearnZillion allows personalized learning to happen anytime and anywhere. Students can get lessons anytime, freeing up class-time for the application of skills and content. Students can receive personalized assignments, so that they get exactly the lessons they need when they need them. Video lessons can be saved on the device and watched later–even when the internet isn’t available. Everything that a student does in the app is also reflected in their account and their teacher’s account on the web. Every video sums up what the student has learned from that particular lesson!
