Illinois State University www.coe.ilstu.edu/ilnpbts What is TAKE ONE? Participants Complete a specified video portfolio entry using a classroom of PreK-12 students. Submit the entry to NBPTS to be scored by April 15, 2013. Can apply their scores within two years when they begin the whole process of National Board Certification.

Illinois State University www.coe.ilstu.edu/ilnpbts Could Be 5-Year NBPTS Process 1 Complete TAKE ONE. –August 2012-April 15, 2013 2 and 3 Complete Whole NBPTS Process. –May 2013-June 2014 or –May 2014-June 2015 –May 2015-June 2016 4 and 5 Achieve or Bank Scores and Retake. –Fall 2014 – Spring 2015 –Fall 2015-Spring 2016 –Fall 2016-Spring 2017 –Fall 2017-Spring 2018

NBPTS Participant Handbook A CD-ROM containing the standards Portfolio entry instructions Packing and shipping instructions Bar code labels to be placed on materials Envelopes for submitting the entry and forms The box used for the entry submission

Session 3 5 minutes Meet many of the criteria outlined in the directions. Session 4 5 minutes Show clips of what students know and do not know. Session 5 15 minutes Show how teacher influenced student learning Session 6 15+ minutes Meets criteria and may be submitted to NBPTS.
