Selecting Areas of Focus 1.Log in to SchoolNet. 2.Hover over Educator Development tab and click on “My Plan”. 3.Click on “Choose Area of Focus”. 4.Select your two indicators (one must be within your school’s area of focus, the other can be any of the remaining 11 indicators). 5.Click on Submit for Approval. 5.Back on your “My Plan” page now you will see your status as “Pending Approval”

Rationale for Observation Model Changes Feedback from the field Teachers wanted a more comprehensive view of their teaching over time, not just 4 snapshots School leaders wanted to get into classrooms more often School leaders and teachers agreed that novice teachers would benefit from additional PO support The model changes allow for School leader flexibility in planning for observations Gathering a body of evidence that allows a more complete view of a teacher’s practice over time; observation is standards-based, not just some mathematical average

Important Information for Observations Non-Probationary Teachers will be randomly assigned to Group 1 or 2 You will receive an email from the LEAP Operations team by Wednesday, August 22 nd if you have not been assigned a Peer Observer. If you do not have a Peer Observer but want to request one there will be instructions for how to do so in the email Observations will begin on September 10 th and end on April 19 th There are no observation windows this year in an effort to encourage the idea of an ongoing body of evidence that is collected throughout the school year.

17. The Other Measures Student Perception Surveys Professionalism Student Outcomes SPS sample questions and the Professionalism revised rubric are on the LEAP website. Administration details to follow. One way we will ensure accurate student outcomes results is through the Teacher Student Data Link; you will receive more information on the roster verification process later this year. You will receive “real- time” information about the other measures throughout the school year as is necessary.
