Hail Storms By:Levon Oztemel And Danielle Williams

How hailstorms are produced Hailstorm is a type of thunderstorm A good portion of the cumulonimbus cloud is in the freezing temperatures freezing the water droplets. Because of the low pressure in the clouds and high pressure closer to earth near freezing level it makes and produces hail. The density in a hailstorm is high in the freezing level because there is a lot of pressure due to the amount of water in the air that are very close to each other making meaning there will be more matter causing a high density. Low pressure is found in the cumulonimbus clouds because the hail is staying there because of the high pressure in the freezing level and the hail always wants to go to low pressure and most of the time hail is found always in clouds. Meaning that if hail wants to go to low pressure and it the hail is found in clouds that means that there is obviously low pressure in the clouds. Soon enough gravity would take over and make it hail. Not only can hailstorms come from thunderclouds but they sometimes can also come from cold clouds. Since the earths surface is warm the hail soon enough wants to drop.

Humidity in a Hail Storm In a Hailstorm there is a high humidity Because the hail balls are frozen water droplets and when it rains there is a high relative humidity so the hail is rain just frozen making it a high humidity. There are many water molecules in the air which cause high air humidity.

Temperature In A Hail Storm The temperatures in a hail storm can be either warm or cold Since hail comes from high above earths surface it can come during warm weather The colder the temperature is the lower the clouds are to the ground, which can mean there will be more force from the hail

Air pressure in a hail storm There is both high and low pressure in a hailstorm In a cloud, where hail is produced there is low air pressure and in the freezing zone below the clouds there is high pressure because of how dense the water molecules are.

Why are hail storms considered severe? Hail of any size can be deadly. It damages house Hail of any size damages open and large plains causing many crops and fields to be ruined. Their size usually falls into the category of under an inch. Some storms have been recorded to show hail the size of oranges Hail comes pelting at high speeds pelting anything. It puts dent in cars takes out windows and causes much damage. In a hail storm there is nowhere safe besides a sturdy type of shelter. It can harm animals.

What is a hail storm? Hail is a type of precipitation that freezes as it enters the earths atmosphere Hail is a type of snow Hailstorms consist of large water droplets forming in cumulonimbus clouds Hailstorms are like rain storms but instead of rain it is little balls of ice Hail storms are strong forced ice balls that cause much damage. They are contained in updrafts until gravity takes over.

Where/when do hailstorms occur in the United States? Hail storms occur in the united states mostly in the early summer when most thunderstorms occur. Hail storms occur at mid latitude. At Mid latitude the surfaces of the earth are warm causing many thunderstorms and sometimes producing ice. Hailstorms Are usually found hitting hardest in open fields where the updraft containing hail is eventually pulled down by gravity. Along with open fields and farms hail storms also sometimes begin and hit very hard on mountain ranges.

Marble Question If there was high pressure in the cluds and low pressure at the freezing point what would happen.
