6. Concrete Nouns A concrete noun names an object that can be perceived by the senses: –Chalk –Martin –School –Gum

7. Collective Nouns A collective noun names a group: –Crowd –Class –Team –Family

8. Compound Nouns A compound noun is a noun of more than one word: –Evergreen Terrace –New Jersey –Elementary school –Krusty the Clown Show

9. Plural Nouns A noun that refers to more than one person or thing is plural in number: –Students –Desks –Teachers –Simpsons

10. Possessive Nouns To form the possessive case of a singular noun, add an apostrophe and an s: –Bart’s prank To form the possessive case of a plural noun ending in s, add only the apostrophe; otherwise, add an apostrophe and an s: –Students’ classroom –Children’s classroom
